11 Best New Shows on Netflix: May 2022’s Top Upcoming Series to Watch

Netflix is flourishing with their list of new content available for streaming this May, and it’s sure to make you feel more tended to than even the most verdant and and lush Spring greenery. While it’s always hard to say goodbye to the titles leaving in the next month, you won’t be feeling down for long once you get a good look at the impressive array of Netflix Original series coming to the platform to take their place. With everything from brand new titles to long-awaited continuations of fan favorites, Netflix’s diverse and delightful May 2022 premieres is sure to have something for everyone.

The streamer is set to help you celebrate the new month with premieres from highly-anticipated new seasons of hit shows across several different genres (so there’s truly something for everyone) like Stranger ThingsLove, Death & RobotsWorkin’ Moms, and Who Killed Sara?.

While the list of May’s top shows is dominated by continuations of more established titles, there is still a lot to look forward to when it comes to fresh shows streaming exclusively on Netflix starting this month. 'The Pentaverate'

DESCRIPTION: Mike Myers is back, yeah baby! The Pentaverate is a six-episode comedy series that acts as a spin-off of Myers’ 1993 romantic black comedy film So I Married an Axe Murderer. The show follows Ken Scarborough (Myers), a Canadian journalist on a self-appointed mission to expose the truth about a secret society called “The Pentaverate” in order to earn his job back. The titular group is a society of five men, all played by Myers (because he’s Mike frickin’ Myers!), who have collectively controlled the word and influenced global events since the Black Plague in 1347.

'Love, Death & Robots: Volume 3'

DESCRIPTION: Although this series is animated, returning fans will know that it is NOT meant for kids! Love, Death & Robots is an anthology series whose genre spans to include everything from dark comedy to sci-fi to horror, as displayed through 20-minute or less episodes that connect to at least one of the titular central themes of love, death, and/or robots. In this latest eight-episode season of the Emmy-winning series out of Tim Miller and David Fincher, uncanny worlds, violent delights, and twisted kicks await. Sounds like the makings of a striking season of TV!

DESCRIPTION: This hybrid comedy-documentary series seeks to pull back the curtain on the surprising ways the American government impacts our everyday lives, from the mundane to the life changing. And better to be up to the task than irreverent and insightful comedian, Adam Conover? Throughout the series, Conover delves into the government’s successes, failures, and what we, as viewers, can do to change it ourselves. Based Michael Lewis’s 2018 non-fiction book The Fifth Risk: Undoing Democracy, this blend of educational docuseries and amusing sketch-comedy is a great opportunity to learn more about our country and our capacity to affect it, all told through Conover’s clever and entertaining lens.
